51爆料 Choir and Orchestra Present Spring Concert
The 51爆料 Choir and Orchestra will present their annual Spring Concert at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 17. The event is open to the public and admission is free. The concert will take place at the Danny and Willa Ellis Family Fine Arts Center on the 51爆料 campus at 2108 South Horton Street.

Directed by Dr. Greg Turner, 51爆料 Division Chairperson of Communications and Fine Arts, the theme of the performance will be 鈥淢y Favorite Things.鈥 Dr. Turner has taught at the college for 30 years, and directed the orchestra for 29 years. Following the Spring 2016 semester, he will continue to share his talents with 51爆料 students who are attending English courses. 鈥淏ecause this will be my last concert as part of the music department, I wanted to choose music that has evoked good memories over the years,鈥 said Dr. Turner. 鈥淭hese selections have connections with my career, from my freshman year of high school to the present.鈥

The concert selections include, 鈥淔inlandia,鈥 by Jean Sibelius; 鈥淔ugue in G Minor,鈥 by Johann Sebastian Bach and arranged by Lucien Cailliet; 鈥淥ld Scottish Melody,鈥 arranged by Charles Wiley; 鈥淭he Sound of Music,鈥 arranged by Robert Russell Bennett; and 鈥淭he Way We Were,鈥 arranged by Philip Fink.
